Originally from Edinburgh, Emma resides in Glin, West Limerick, on the scenic ‘Shannon Estuary Way’, with her husband and two boys. Emma was awarded ‘The Vice Convenor’s’art award’ at school and pursued her dreams of studying art in Dundee obtaining a BDes (Hons) in Illustration and Printmaking. Also qualified in art education (P.G.D.E. with an overall distinction) and a P.g (Dip.) in Multimedia Technologies.
Drawing inspiration from the beauty of Irish wildlife, florals, seas, landscapes, and coastlines, Emma’s work reflects the vibrant nature of her surroundings. Her paintings are characterised by a joyful, bold and uplifting palette, showcasing a harmonious blend of traditional, abstract, illustrative and expressive elements. Working with acrylics, oils, and mixed media her versatility shines through in her creations.
Emma has sold paintings local, national, and internationally, as well as participating in annual charity fundraisers and auctions. She had solo and group exhibitions as well as yearly local fairs and markets. Emma has exhibited in ‘Art Source’ in Dublin and Cork numerous times in the past.
She has won awards and continues to strive in her artistic endeavours. Exploring and experimenting the ongoing creative processes and journeys of discovery continually keep her curiously interested and challenged.
A recent accomplishment of hers being Fibin Films using five artworks on set filming for a TV series to be shown on T4 later on this year (2024).
Emma is motivated to push boundaries and continue evolving as an artist. Using continual play and experimentaltions. Her ability to capture the essence of her surroundings with both imagination and colour make her a notable presence in the Irish art world.
