Influenced by the stunning scenery and coast of West Cork. On return from visiting the Sheeps head lighthouse walk I was very keen to paint it and the quaint small lighthouse with the rugged rocky foreground and azure blue background. The swirling frothy torquoise and white parts of the sea was very significant of the movement of the waves around the lighthouse area. This painting has very loose yet detailed qualities to it and I have used contmeporary and expressive elements in foreground whilst painting the rock structures to incorporate the textures, greens and greys from what I observed. I really enjoyed painting this and it is very true to the photo source I used taken by myself.
